Technology in Africa: When is our WWDC or I/O

Now the dust has settled from the two biggest developer conferences of the year and time has passed enough to digest the products and features that were released; the iOS 9, google photos, android M and a whole products.

A question comes to mind where or when is Africa's technology giants i/o or WWDC? Yes tech is at its early stages but we should just think about how fast the world is moving. Africa should always not sit down and watch extended versions on YouTube and be dreaming.
We have to  Support Our Technology startups; Companies in US,China and all those countries noted for technology were supported at their beginning stage. Imagine Steve Jobs' Apple was not supported during the 1984 launch of the Macintosh would there be iPhone in 2007? or if Facebook was  not supported in Harvard would it have become the the giant social media company we know? Of course not! but they supported it by investing huge sums of money; Peter Thiel In August 2004,made a $500,000 angel investment in the social network Facebook for 10.2% of the company and joined Facebook's board. let me break it down, Facebook by then was a collage thing, imagine investing into a website created by collage students so let's say students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science Technology's watsuptek, That is how Facebook was by then but it was supported.
Africa technology companies, in my view should not involve  themselves into politics too much; I saw Rlg as the "IBM of Ghana" back in 2010/2011, providing innovative products but it is gradually getting crushed out as a result of it's too much involvement in Politics. I was encouraging someone to try Rlg uhuru and the guy was "it's an NDC product" so he will not buy. Most Africans take politics to heart so you have to be careful when dealing with government. I think Rlg will get a come back soon but it's just getting late hp and Toshiba are innovating fast.
Technically most African innovations like the Bisa app, iRokotv,Trokxi,Jumia and Suba are doing well but there is more room improvement to the level of WWDC. One question is how actually are trying to change the world? By just copying existing ideas and not doing it better, I don't want to mention names but some are not doing  well that is why our people are not patronizing us. We have to look for original idea not third rate products and execute it to perfection like how Apple, Google and other tech giants does, There is a future for Africa, cant wait to attend an African company's WWDC or i/o
