Women are very crucial in the process of ensuring continuity in the human race. It is therefore worth celebrating them on a beautiful day like this. It is once again a special day set aside to recognize and celebrate the good works of our mothers in our upbringing.
A mother is not just a woman who gave birth to someone but also a woman who has had to sacrifice to make her child whom he/she turns out to be. A mother is the one willing to toil to feed her baby at her own expense.Someone who has learnt to love her child even more than herself. A mother would die saving the life of her child rather than leave her child unattended to. These are very few things mothers do to ensure the survival of their wards.There are So many women out there but not all of them are mothers. Mothers are women who seek to see their wards progress to higher heights than they themselves have ever reached. When you talk of a mother, you talk of a woman who understands the plight of her ward and is willing to help them out. why wouldn't we have the cause to celebrate these brave women?
As we Celebrate our much appreciated mothers, it is also very important that we stand very strongly against violence against women. A happy mother makes a happy home. It is very sad to note that even in this modern world, there are men who find pride in in beating up their wives! The insanity of it! Stop the violence against women! They are not punching bags. They are your wives. They are the mothers of your children. When there is a problem, talk things out like adults, not fighting like kids!
The effect of violence against women,goes a long way to affect children to a large extent. The harm caused in most cases is irreversible. So why stand the risk of destroying the future of our children, when a simple display of maturity could avert this?
Having condemned violence against women however, It is also of substance that our mothers try as much as possible to obey their husbands. Respect they say is reciprocal. It is therefore prudent that our mothers give the due respect to our fathers in order to maintain a peaceful home. Even the bible endorses the man as the head of the house, so our mothers should give them that respect in order for the respect to be reciprocated to them.
Nevertheless, it is my humble plea that the almighty Lord blesses and keeps all mothers alive for long to enjoy the fruits of their labor. To all mothers and potential mothers, i say Ayekoo! Thank You! Merci! Akpe! M'eda moase!
And to those who have lost their mothers, i pray the good lord heals the pains in your heart and grant you prosperity and peace. To the late mothers, may your humble souls continue to rest in perfect peace.Amen
