Class 5 pupil shocks Bekwai MCE... Akufo-Addo is president.

The popularity of the two-time
presidential candidate of the
opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP),
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,
keeps on soaring, after a Class 5
pupil in the Bekwai Municipality
named him as the President of Ghana,
in answer to a question posed by the
Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of
the area.
The Municipal Chief Executive of
Bekwai, Mrs. Mary Jantuah,
reportedly received the shock of her
life after a Class Five pupil named the
aspiring NPP presidential candidate
as the President of Ghana.
Answering a question posed by the
MCE during a my first day in school
tour, the pupil, who is a student of
Sanfo Aduam Primary School in
Bekwai, according to a report
monitored on Fox FM, shouted the
name of Nana Addo as the President
of Ghana, much to the chagrin of Mrs.
Jantuah and her entourage, which
included the District Director of
Education, Mr. Amankwaah.
What appeared to have shocked the
MCE and her followers was the fact
that the question was posed to the
class, immediately after she had
distributed cups and other souvenirs
bearing the portrait of the President
of Ghana, His Excellency John
Dramani Mahama.
The face of Mrs. Jantuah was said to
have changed immediately the pupil
mentioned the name of the former
NPP flagbearer but quickly turned
into laughter, before correcting the
pupil that the President of Ghana was
actually not Nana Akufo-Addo, but
John Dramani Mahama.
The MCE was said to be on a tour of
some schools in the district, as part
of the annual programme to welcome
fresh and continuing pupils back to
school.
The occasion usually presents the
opportunity for government officials
to interact with the pupils and remind
them of programmes and policies the
government was putting in place to
help improve education in the
country. Government officials also
present items, usually books, pencils and other materials to schools to
complement the efforts of parents and guardians.
