Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox One has
only been out since November, but it
looks like the Redmond giants are
already thinking about the next step
for its console business, if a new job
advertisement posted this week is
anything to go by. Microsoft is
looking for an industrial designer to
help create next generation
entertainment hardware, which means
there could be a new Xbox on the
way – and soon! Read on for all the

It looks like Microsoft is looking for a
new designer to help make next-
generation hardware for the Xbox
brand, summing up the listing as
looking for a “super creator”, who’ll
be able to bring various skills to the
Xbox table – including collaborating
with the design team, on what could
be the next Xbox console.

It’s no surprise that Microsoft is
already planning its next console, as
research and development usually
begins as soon as the previous
hardware generation is shipped, and
sometimes even earlier than that –
it’s a safe bet to say that both
Nintendo and Sony are already
working on their next consoles too in
some way, but it’s unlikely we’ll see
anything from all three key players
any time soon.
The job listing isn’t any indication
that a new console is on the way
soon, but it does mean that Microsoft
is getting ready for the future already
– and we can’t wait to see what
comes next after the Xbox One, and
who knows? Perhaps we could even
be surprised with a slim Xbox One
